This week has been my children’s spring break. While it’s been fun having the little beans around all of the time, every minute, every second, of every day, I’m ready for them to go back to school. So this weekend we’re toasting the end of spring break and the return of my “me” time (that’s from 11am-1pm when Jud naps).
To continue our celebration of April Purple, I smashed some blackberries and mint into Mr. Hedin’s regular cocktail and it became a delicious (and summery) version of an old classic. Have a great weekend! See you on Monday
5 mint leaves
1/2 teaspoon agave
2 ounces whiskey
In the bottom of a cocktail shaker, muddle together blackberries, mint and agave until the mint is fragrant and the berries are mostly just juice. Add ice and whiskey and shake very well.
Strain into a highball glass filled with ice and top with soda. Garnish with mint.
